Magazine Layout
Thinking Ahead was Commerzbank's monthly in-house magazine which had a print run of six thousand copies, mainly distributed throughout the London branch with a small amount sent to Frankfurt. I was one of two senior designers assigned to produce the monthly magazine from initial client consultation through to print delivery.
Image search, layout, sense check, management of proof reader, sign-off, packaging files and delivery to printer, working to a monthly deadline. Once files were collated and delivered to printers we would then start to translate the magazine to iPad App format, please see the User Experience Design page.
DJ XRay UK - Logo redesign
From initial client consultation I began by styling a customised font which created the foundation for further development. The logo was to be used predominantly on social media, needed to reflect a Trinidadian heritage and was to clearly show DJ XRay UK's moniker. The client also requested a bold design, instantly recognisable and one which would reflect his (tongue firmly in cheek) 'ninja skills on the turntables'.
The typography has an edgy appearance, one which is unique to DJ XRay UK, inspiration for this came from Japanese calligraphy, in particular how the individual brushstrokes create overall movement in the writing. By using the colours and cross of the Trinidadian flag I found the boldness I was looking for, then I played with the typography over the colours looking for balance, also I considered how the logo would look as the centre label on a vinyl record.

LNJ Electrics
Josh came to me initially with a logo development request for his new business, requesting a design which incorporated the initials J, L and N, and also a design which worked around the idea of a plug or electrical item in order to reflect the company's line of business. I presented several ideas, of which the simple insignia was chosen.
Once the company brand identity was decided we then discussed which other assets he could consider for the new business including website through to company branded work wear.
This resulted in the design and launch of the LNJ Electrics website, business cards, branded work-wear t-shirts, social media icons, email signature, templates for quotes/invoices and van signage, from product concept through to liaising with suppliers and print delivery or digital management.
I continue to act as admin for the LNJ Electrics website and also provide ad-hoc digital or design services for the company.
